The insect, whose scientific name is Ephemera danica , only has a few days to fly, mate and lay new eggs. “What makes the mayfly unique is its life cycle: from the egg laid in the water to the insect capable of flight and mating, which dies after a few days,” said Thomas Schmitt, chairman of the commission of scientists and representatives from research institutions and conservation organizations from Germany, Austria and Switzerland that made the choice. The ministry of road and Transport highways, India announced new guidelines for cab aggregators through a notification released on 26 November. The ministry issued the guidelines under the part of Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Act, 2019, that states take into account before issuing a license to state aggregators. The regulations define cab aggregators as digital mediators or marketplaces for passengers to connect with drivers for the intent of transportation. “The city taxi fare indexed by WPI (Wholesale Price Index)for the current year shall be the base fare chargeable to customers availing aggregator service,” said the guidelines issued by the ministry of road and transport highways. The cancellation fee is capped at 10 percent of the total fare, not exceeding Rs 100 for both users and drivers. In a new study, climate scientists from both Indian and Germany have concluded that large volcanic eruptions can provide additional sources of predictability for Indian Monsoon. The research, published in the journal Science Advances , made use of climate modelling data from the last 1000 years, numerous proxy records of Indian Monsoon, ENSO, volcanoes and changes in the Pacific Ocean, observational data from the previous 150 years. They also included dedicated experiments from the first Indian climate model, the IITM Earth System Model. The added source of monsoon predictability highlighted in the study arises because the coupling between the monsoon and the El Nino Southern Oscillation (ENSO) intensifies. The next-gen console was released in certain markets on 12 November, however, the release date of PS5 in India is still unclear.
